About Ernie

Ernie has spent his creative career bouncing between music and theater finally settling right between the two as a composer/lyricist/playwright who focuses on musical theater. Early in his career Ernie Released three CD's of pop/jazz music. The third of which, Better Days, garnered him the honor of being Billboard's "Outstanding Unsigned Artist of the Year". His music can be streamed or purchased from all the major music sites.

After hearing various cabaret artists perform his material, Ernie got interested in developing cabaret and novelty numbers for more theatre-centric performers. His comedy and jazz number have since been performed and recorded internationally with one of his pieces being performed at Carnegie Hall.

In NYC, Ernie was accepted into the BMILehman-Engle Musical theater Workshop as both composer and lyricist where he started developing full scale musicals. His first score, to the musical Monsters was produced in Boston and various theaters around New England. For his next work, Under the Influence, ernie also took on the role of playwright. This musical has been produced twice in Portland earning him a Drammy Award for "Best Original Music." Ernie is currently working on a new piece "The Pursuit of Happiness" which had its world premier workshop at The OUTWright Festival in 2019 with a full production coming in 2020.

As an actor Ernie was recently seen as Eddie Carbone in Fuse's A View from the Bridge and won a Drammy Award for "Outstanding Performer in a Musical" for his role of the EMCEE in OUTWright's 2018 production of Cabaret.
